A man in Turkey has built a cage around his head to stop smoking. If he was in San Francisco, he could use hypnosis instead. But perhaps hypnosis is less popular in Turkey versus San Francisco.
At first his story seems silly, but if you think about it more deeply, it’s a sad story. He doesn’t believe that he can quit smoking without using a cage around his head.

He thinks that he doesn’t have the will power to stop smoking. But it’s not a matter of will power. The smokers I’ve helped were often mentally powerful people.
The real key to quitting smoking is having the right belief. If a strong part of their subconscious believed that smoking was good and helpful, then smoking was a positive thing and the subconscious wouldn’t quit smoking.
My job was to help that part be open to a new belief system. And as I help that part be more open to new ideas, then that part realizes the truth, that smoking is actually negative and harmful.
And when that happens, the part goes from wanting to smoke to wanting to quit smoking. The client’s subconscious goes from being an opponent to becoming a helpful partner.
