Hypnosis helps with hot flashes

You know that Barack Obama won re-election in 2012, but did you also know that a hypnosis study on hot flashes was released just days before the election? The two events have nothing to do with each other; I just noticed they both happened in 2012.

Anyhow, Baylor University released a study on how hypnosis reduced hot flashes and other symptoms of postmenopausal women. They had 187 post-menopausal women that reported at least seven hot flashes per day, or at least 50 per week.

By week 12 of the study, the women who used hypnosis reduced their hot flash frequency by an average of 74% while the control group reduced their frequency by only 17%. That’s a pretty big difference!

At the three-month follow up, some women even said they barely had any hot flashes. And the hot flashes were less intense.

Here are the links in order of simplicity. The last link is very technical.
